Our 3.5-hour Daily Public horse farm tours are offered in two sessions per day. A Morning Session (8:30 am - 12:00 noon) and an Afternoon Session (12:30 pm - 4:00 pm).
The tour is expertly narrated throughout with transportation between destinations provided for all guests on a comfortable 14-person passenger van. All tours depart from the Thoroughbred Heritage Visitors Center in Lexington, KY with guests returned to the Visitors Center at the conclusion of the tour. (Visitors Center Address: 366 Waller Ave., Suite 119; Lexington, KY 40504)
Destination stops are made at two (or more) of the beautiful Thoroughbred horse farms in the region and also includes a scenic drive and, as available, a stop at the world famous Keeneland Race Course*.
Additional destinations are also included subject to availability on the day of the tour.
The destination stop(s) at Thoroughbred horse farms will allow seeing the horses up close and personal and often provide opportunities for some limited interaction with the horses.
NOTE: All tour itineraries can vary depending on changing venue and farm availability as occurring on the specific day of the tour. This is true for all of the venues (including Keeneland) and Thoroughbred farms. Farms can change in availability resulting from a wide range of factors including weather, farm construction projects, animal health initiatives, and other events.
* Keeneland Availability: At its discretion Keeneland Race Course is generally available for both Morning and Afternoon Sessions throughout the year but is NOT available for any sessions on the days that it conducts live racing (generally Wednesday-Sunday for 17 total dates each in the months of April and October.) A current calendar of Keeneland’s upcoming live racing schedule is available on its website. Keeneland will not be available on those dates.
We work hard to bring together the very best possible tour experience on each and every day for our guests.
